Day 1: This hike begins from your hotel in Toamasina city. We take you from your hotel for 5 days. Meeting is early in the morning, to enjoy as much as possible the day light. A 4×4 car will pick you up at 7.00am to take you to the Ampasimadinika, which is located about 40 km of drive from Toamasina. After the walk trip toward the Ambodibonara with an estimated time of 5h, passing along the trail with the presence of holes, rocks, climbs, descents, we arriving in village of Ambodibonara. Dinner and overnight in the houses that belong to the villagers.
Day 2: Ambodibonara - Anjahamana - Andranoambolava. Today we up for a walk to reach the village of Andranoambolava starting at 08:00 for hiking 22 km walk with pauses, walk time about 06h. Program of day: walk on height: a panoramic view of the hills and waterfalls, visit the waterfalls; Passing through the small villages; Crossing a small river by boat to go to the village of Anjahamana; Visit the village (discover the daily life of peasants fishing); Visit a Hot Spring 5km from the village, a dip in the Hot Spring near is optional, Meeting with the local population. Dinner and overnight in the houses that belong to the villagers in the Andranoambolava.
Day 3: Andranoambolava-Andratambazaha. Early start to reach the Andratambazaha. This small track 18 km, 4h of walk along the trail with the presence of tree roots on the slopes, mud; Short cross of the river with the presence of rocks; walking through a lush landscape (bamboo tree, traveler, etc.) Once we’ve arrival to Andratambazaha village it is time to meeting with the village chief and Tangalamena. Today in the program: We together with residents will cooking of traditional dishes (at will); Lunch with the village chief; After lunch diverse animation folk dance, traditional ceremony (request for engagement, hair braiding, etc.). Dinner and overnight in the houses that belong to the villagers.
Day 4: Andratambazaha – Anjahamana - Ambodibonara. The last day will bring a four-hour river-trip by dugout canoe through stunning landscapes, to enjoy the breath taking vegetation and wildlife one last time. The journey will take you to Anjahamana village. We will make stops on the descent to allow you to dig and look for hidden treasures of river to try your luck: gold, semiprecious stones, crystal… A proficient miner will give you his best techniques! Once you’ve descended to Anjahamana village it is time to head back to Ambodibonara. An easy walk about 3 hours. Dinner and overnight in the houses that belong to the villagers.
Day 5: Ambodibonara - Ampasimadinika - Tamatave. In the morning we back to Tamatave and arrive around 16-00. Overnight at hotel Tamatave.
About meals: Full Board (except breakfast at D1 and dinner on the last day) with wine and aperitif. Meal plan: generous and well-balanced meals with fresh food mixing savors and spices to support your physical efforts. Biscuits, sugars, and dried fruits or fresh fruits while walk. Fruits and salad for lunch. Aperitif and snacks at the end of the afternoon. Generous dinner for a deserved rest.
Beverages: bottled water, juice, tea, coffee, wine and aperitif, rums, beer. Our team takes in charge the dinner preparation.
About accommodation: in the houses that belong to the villagers and in the bivouacs. It is recommended to bring with you a personal flask. Our team takes in charge almost everything.
