THE NEW PROTECTED AREA ANTREMA, Represents a great place of excursions
The Antrema forest station has been classified as the first Malagasy biocultural site since 2000. This reserve consists of 153 plant species (76% endemic), 23 amphibian and reptile species, 75 bird species, 5 species of lemurs, including the famous "crowned sifaka" (crowned propitheca, considered by the Sakalava of Antrema to be the representatives of their ancestors thus protected by their culture and placed under the supervision of Prince), and marine fish, fresh and brackish water.
No visit cannot be done without prior encountering the prince Sakalava that welcomes you home only on Tuesdays and Thursdays! An unforgettable visit!
This exceptional site, life of the Sakalava, is open to the public since October 2013. In collaboration with the University of Antananarivo, this protected area is managed by the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN).

Further south along the coast we find a beautiful fisher village nestled between sandy beaches that invites guests to a complete idleness called Katsepy. Ms Chabaud also offers rustic cabins for those wanting to stay overnight.
